OCR: Massive Attack formed out of the ashes of the Wild Bunch in 1987. Their original manager was Nench Cherry's husband, Cameron McVey. Massive's 1991 debut album, "Blue Lines," was heralded as a breakthrough in several respects. It blended dub. house, and hip hop to capture the moody spirit of Britain at the time. "Blue Lines" featured guest vocals by Tricky. shara Nelson, and Horace Andy. Massive Attack looked set to conquer the world. Unfortunately. a disastrous American tour and lackluster promotion caused "Blue Lines" to flatline in the States. It took them three years to record a second album, "Protection."
